As President of the CONSEIL SUPERIEUR DE LA MARINE MARCHANDE (High Council of the French Merchant Navy) his opinion is automatically sought concerning legislation on Maritime or Port matters. Michel QUIMBERT has the honour of being elected to the FRENCH NAVAL ACADEMY which is composed of 78 members, all of whom are authorities on the maritime world. It was originally founded in 1752 under Louis 15th.
